Grotto 11

Grotto II was curated by Dr Sarah Jones for the exhibition Collective Mothering, presented by Platform Arts in August 2026. The installation reimagines and recontextualises an earlier design by Kate Baker. It is a living garden, constructed onsite at Platform Arts Geelong by Sarah Jones and Kate Baker.

An accompanying essay reflects on the impact concrete continues to have on our culture, our attitudes to green spaces and our historical legacy. The Grotto was written by Sarah Jones and published in Collective Mothering Vol. 2, edited by Dr Amber Smith and printed in limited edition by Ranch Pressing.
